Counter-Punch
This is a quick counter-spell that I wrote for use in returning a magickal
attack. It also works well for banishing ambient negative energies,
assuming you can visualize them as a tangible opponent.
Close your eyes.
Slowly extend whichever hand you would most likely use to throw a punch
straight up. Your hand should be open and "awake" in the Chi sense of
the word, and the open palm should face away from you. Feel your blood
pulsing through your hand. Extend your hand and arm as high as you can,
until you feel your shoulder muscles stretch slightly.
When your hand and arm are at maximum extension, hold it there for a few
moments. Feel your hand begin to tingle, and visualize a buildup of
crackling electricity, as if your hand were the terminal of a Van de
Graaff generator. When your hand is thoroughly engulfed in crackling
silver-blue energy, slowly pull your hand down. As you do so, rotate
the palm so that it faces you, and curl it into a comfortable fist.
Let your shoulder rotate so that you can pull your forearm back along
your body, parallel to the floor. Your fist-enclosed palm should be
facing up as this happens. When you are in this ready position,
visualize your attacker with as much detail as possible. This can
be a collection of mental descriptions if you have no usable visible
image. With your best visualization in place, throw an authoritative,
but not overly physically forceful, linear punch, rotating your hand
and wrist as they extend out parallel to the ground.
As you reach the point where you would expect to impact something,
project the crackling ball of electricity outward. Breathe out forcefully
with a kiai shout. Visualize your attacker being struck solidly in the
solar plexus with a devastating punch that knocks them backwards, or even
completely on their back, stunned and gasping for air.
Cross your arms and visualize yourself standing over your stricken attacker.
Banish with profanity.
Open your eyes and take a deep breath.
